The Swiss Alps is a great place to trek in the summer! You can get a wonderful view of the Matahorn. Summer days are often very clear.
People commonly take 2 or 3 full days to do a good trek in the Swiss Alps.
You can stay in different huts along the way and you can reach about 3,500m without being a mountaineer.
Make sure you have the following things in order and in good condition:
- Maps (including GPS)
- Water bottle
- Back pack
- Shoes
- Socks
- Clothes
- Walking sticks
Also take:
- Hat (with covering for the neck)
- Sunglasses
- Lip balm
- Sun screen lotion
- Snack and nibble items
- Poncho
- Light but warm sleeping bag
- Pocket knife
- Compass
- Mobile phone (it can come in handy)
- Digital camera
- Money (local currency)
